His children have grown to become exceedingly educated and It’s worth mention that each of his children has become highly educated and successful in their careers. An interview conducted with Saad expresses such lessons and shares his interesting and motivating story. The pediatric surgeon has retired after practicing medicine for 47 years. Although he is no longer working as a doctor he has left us he with lifelong memories that show his innovation, expensive sacrifice, and encouraging service.
Dr. Saad was born in the late 1940’s in Palestine. His father was an experienced petroleum mechanic at the discovery of oil in the Middle East. With his father’s skills highly demanded, he moved to Kuwait bringing along Saad and his family. His father taught him a very valuable life lesson early in life that implanted a seed into his mind that has helped him succeed later in life. The lesson was that he would be respected if he obtained a high level of education. Skilled with excessive knowledge, he knew he was capable of anything and could be anybody in the entire world.
While working with his brother in Kuwait, Dr. Saad had a heat stroke while working with his brother doing construction. Realizing later that day that the operating room in the hospital was always air conditioned, he decided that he was throwing in the hat on construction and set the goal of becoming a pediatric surgeon. It’s pretty spectacular that one of the top successful pediatrician surgeons made the decision to pursue the medical field as a result of a hot summer’s day in Kuwait. This teaches you that you can become anybody that you want to be if you focus your mind on it and always accept success and nothing else. As Saad said, “If a poor Palestinian refugee can make it and be successful in America, you can too!” Learn more: https://www.linkedin.com/in/saad-saad-524707159/
When asked what advice he would give to himself when he was younger, he answered, “reaching your goals is not impossible if you insist on it.” He teaches us that setting your mind to become the person you strive and have goals to be and not to procrastinate on tasks that advance the progress of obtaining your goals if there is the time in the day left to accomplish them.
